Star Trek TOS: Episode 32 - THE CHANGELING

Certainly a classic episode, I mean who can forget the lovable Nomad? But, damn this thing got bigger holes than Kirsty Alley. I actually like the idea of an Earth space probe meeting up with aliens and getting reprogrammed ... it's pretty cool. But they made a device that destroys imperfection? Is that a race full of obsessive compulsive aliens? Also, I hate that they rehash this same idea for Star Trek: The Motion Picture ... so lazy.

And Nomad just killed 4 BILLION people! He's ruined more lives than Eli Whitney. What?? Anyway, Nomad absorbs every photon torpedo that the Enterprise shoots at him, and it's a second away from destroying the ship when Nomad suddenly mistakes Kirk for it's creator (Roykirk). Nomad boards the ship and kills Scotty when (surprise) he randomly runs at Nomad like a wild maniac. Then Nomad hears Uhura's awful singing and erases her mind. Now Nomad brings Scotty back to life and Nurse Chapple reteaches Uhura literally everything. I mean come on now.

Kirk causes Nomad to destroy itself by making it realize it's own imperfections.  If only I could cause humans to do the same thing. It's a decent episode and Nomad isn't as dumb looking as I remembered.
I did like the part in which the police trick Angelina Jolie into thinking that she never had a son named Nomad.
