A terrorist bomb destroys the Earth embassy on Vulcan. In the event Admiral Forest saves Soval but he himself is killed. The DNA from the bomb shows that it was the member of a renegade Vulcan group (they differ in the following of Surak's teachings), the member of this group responsible ... T'Pau (she presided over Spock's sex fight). Archer and T'Pol travel across a desert to confront this group, on the way they encounter a Vulcan who helps them but is killed by lightning (??), anyway before he dies he performs a mind meld on Archer. Meanwhile, Phlox discovers that the DNA has been planted. Surak figures out that it was a security officer for the High Council that did it and it was all a set up. This episode has many subtle references to other Star Trek series; three different movies, TOS, TNG and even the Animated Series. Finally! this show "get's it", Star Trek fans like continuity.
